Kids Zone

Mount Olive Ministries’ basic intent for the Kids Zone program is to provide children with both academic and biblical studies. Academic skills are addressed through computer tutoring, workshops, communication skills, awareness of his/her culture and one-on-one sessions. Biblical studies are addressed through daily Bible teaching, Bible activities, and visual aids.

These principles are designed to build confidence against the fear of being tested at the end of the week, low self-esteem, and peer pressure. The general intent of this program is to break the cycle of school drop out and school failure. Some of the needs are addressed through an understanding of Christianity, life skills, and educational assistance through tutoring and higher level learning. On behalf of the parents, Tony and Shannon meet with the children’s teacher when necessary.

Objectives

1. To assist “at risk” students of school failure with their academics.
2. Meet with each student’s teacher on behalf of their parents.
3. Attend school meetings in the absence of parents.
4. Meet with parents on behalf of teachers.
5. Create pre-test for each student toward the end of the week for their exams.
6. Host ACT workshops
7. Teach daily Bible study
