GCS paused all school activities to view and learn about the solar eclipse. After learning that the solar eclipse is a type of eclipse that occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun and the Earth, and when the Moon fully or partially blocks the Sun, students were excited to see the event. The City of Mount Olive closed portions of the area around City Hall and invited participation of the local schools for the viewing.
Special thanks to Ms. Martha Diehl (local librarian) for the presentation of the explanation of the solar eclipse.
